What is a DMX splitter?

A DMX splitter is a device that allows the distribution and amplification of DMX signals from one source to multiple lighting units. A DMX splitter has three main functions: it amplifies the signal, separates lines, and is also an insulator, meaning it protects the system from surges and interference.

SRS DSR12 – is a 12-channel 19'' rack-mount DMX splitter intended for professional stage installations. The device distributes the DMX signal to 12 separate outputs that are optically isolated (up to 1000V each). In addition to LED indicators for each output, the DSR12 also has a true output for daisy chaining. What are stage dimmers?

Dimmers are devices that regulate the intensity of light, and stage dimmers do just that on stage. Their most basic function is to control the voltage coming to the lighting fixtures, allowing the light to be dimmed, from full light output to complete extinction. When used in stage productions, for example in the context of theater, dimmers allow for precise control of lighting to create atmospheres, transitions, dynamics and moods. So, dimmers are a key tool for controlling light dynamics in traditional stage lighting, but their role is increasingly diminishing with the transition to modern LED technology.

Dimmers are used in conventional classic lighting devices, which, unlike modern LED lighting solutions, do not have their own electronic drivers or power regulators. Today, they are used in spaces that use a combination of older and new devices, for example in theaters, concert halls, churches, television studios, but we can also see them in concert (event) applications.

They offer a wide portfolio of dimmers, from installation to touring variants, wireless, network-controlled, portable or rack-mount options, which are adapted to the real requirements of professional stage applications.
