The House for People and Art Lauba is one of the most important exhibition and cultural spaces in Croatia. Located in a renovated historic industrial building in Zagreb, Lauba combines gallery space, cultural events, event management and contemporary art practices in a unique setting that is continuously adapted to different exhibition and production concepts. Lauba brings urban, cultural and contemporary content to the citizens of Zagreb and Croatia through events that, among other things, require flexible and precise management of gallery lighting. In order to enable high-quality presentation of exhibition content and easy adaptation to different layouts, we participated in the implementation of a new gallery lighting system.
For the needs of House for People and Art Lauba, we delivered and installed a total of 42 Prolights Gallery WashDATVW gallery lighting fixtures. The selected devices enable high-quality color reproduction and precise control of the white spectrum, making them a suitable solution for museum and gallery applications where proper lighting of artworks is one of the key elements of the user experience.
The lighting devices are mounted on a DIN rail, which creates a neat, functional and long-term sustainable installation solution adapted to the requirements of the gallery space. Such an approach enables simple servicing and flexibility in future changes or adjustments to the setup. Visual Productions Cuety LPU-2 control solution was implemented to manage the system, serving as a central control unit and DMX interface for lighting control via tablet. The system allows for easy creation and recall of lighting scenes and adjustment of operation depending on the current exhibition concept and space needs.
To ensure that the infrastructure is complete and reliable, the system is equipped with Visual Productions PoeSwitch and Visual Productions RdmSplitter devices that ensure stable power distribution and communication throughout the entire lighting system. The Visual Productions PoE Switch is used to distribute network communication and power over a single Ethernet cable (Power over Ethernet), enabling simpler connection and powering of devices within a lighting control system. Visual Productions RDM Splitter is used for stable distribution and separation of DMX/RDM signals to multiple lighting devices, ensuring reliable communication and simpler management and diagnostics of the entire lighting system.
By implementing the new gallery lighting system, Lauba has obtained a modern, flexible and easily manageable solution that enables high-quality lighting of artistic content and adaptation to different types of exhibitions and events.
